Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog I hope you enjoy this post and if you would like to read more, do follow me for updates!
As you have probably already gathered yellow is the colour of choice for my first blog post in the series STYLE MY COLOUR 🌈. With spring round the corner (hopefully) I thought yellow would be a good place to start and nothing goes together better than spring and pastel colour clothing. For some, Yellow can be a daunting colour to wear but hopefully in this blog post you will gain some inspiration on how to incorporate yellow into your wardrobe. When someone mentions yellow you don’t have to immediately assume that means bright, neon yellow as I will show you there are many shades of yellow. I’m sure you will find one that suits you and your style. Also, its always fun to try something new and you never know you may discover a new found love for yellow!
Everyday chic with a pop of yellow

If you are new to yellow, a great way to introduce it is with accessories. Some of my favourite outfits consist of a simple pair of mom jeans, a white jumper and a pair of colourful heels to complete the outfit! So, when I saw these in the Asos sale it was love at first sight! These amazing bright yellow shoes are certainly a bold statement but if you have simple pieces in your wardrobe, they will be surprisingly easily to style! If these are too bright for your taste, there are plenty of alternatives around such as these from And Other Stories- https://www.stories.com/en_gbp/shoes/heeled-sandals/product.strappy-square-toe-heeled-sandals-yellow.0734417001.html
Casual and cool with Converses
Denim jacket and jeans- Topshop
Trainers- Converses
Sweatshirt- Urban Outfitters
Dark denim, Converses and a yellow sweatshirt; what’s not to love? This yellow Levi’s sweatshirt from the men’s section in Urban Outfitters looks great with almost everything. This is my go to outfit for days when I’m not sure what to wear but want to look like I’ve put some effort into my outfit! Yellow and washed black denim complement each other perfectly and is a great stater point for any colour novice. I bought this a couple of years ago but Levi’s have this great option available from ASOS- https://www.asos.com/prd/11612701?acquisitionsource=pasteboard
Party like a canary
Dress- https://m.zara.com/uk/en/knit-dress-with-puff-sleeves-p05536015.html?v1=8427165&v2=1180406
Shoes- Zara
This Zara dress certainly isn’t for the colour-phobes among you but hopefully we can all agree it is a pretty fabulous dress! Bare with me though, although this dress may seem daunting to wear its a pale pastel yellow, making it easier to wear and means it will look stunning on all skin tones! Personally I can’t wait for the warm weather to arrive so I can style this with a leather jacket and Converses, although I’m not sure if I’m cool enough to pull that look off! Furthermore, it doubles up as a perfectly suitable party dress. Who says you can’t wear a roll neck dress to a party!
Crazy cord trousers
Shoes- Zara
Jumper- Sisley
Bag- Chloe Tess
Trousers- https://www.asos.com/prd/11267047?acquisitionsource=pasteboard
This is my favourite outfit at the moment! These trousers may seem crazy but trust me on this one if you are looking to give your wardrobe a colour injection for spring these are a great option for you! They are described by Asos as trousers but to be honest with you they are definitely more like a jean material and to top it all off they have a straight cut leg which apparently is very in right now. I have always enjoyed the combination of white and yellow although I understand it isn’t to everyone’s taste for fear of looking like a fried egg ! 🍳
The sensible cold weather option
Jacket, shoes- Topshop
Jumper- Sisley
Bag- Chloe Tess
Coat- Topshop, similar here- https://www.missyempire.com/diara-mustard-longline-duster-jacket?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIybCY5fyB4QIVipXtCh15AAF_EAQYAiABEgL4VfD_BwE or here- https://www.boohoo.com/satin-button-front-duster/DZZ08085.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIybCY5fyB4QIVipXtCh15AAF_EAQYByABEgJyXfD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Let’s be real here, if like me you live in the UK you will probably need a coat for about 80% of the year so, I have included a practical look to accommodate the climate! This shade of yellow is a great starter shade as I like to call it; not too in your face but will still liberate you from your monochrome habits! A duster coat is very versatile for all weathers by switching a jumper for a t-shirt and ankle boots for sandals and you have the perfect spring outfit and although I bought this coat a few years ago there are some excellent alternatives; which I have linked above.
Smart girl about town wearing multiple shades of yellow
Whole outfit from Zara
Lastly, the double yellow look! Mixing yellows certainly isn’t for the faint hearted but I think on some level is looks good and if mixing isn’t for you then individually these pieces would look amazing. The blouse isn’t your typical yellow but would look great with dark denim jeans and black heeled sandals and the shoes, well aren’t they fabulous, and let’s face it an all black outfit paired with these shoes would be great.
After all that information and outfit inspiration, it comes down to the fact that you should wear what you want and not bother about anybody else’s opinion; after all that is what fashion is all about, wearing what makes you happy.
I hope I have managed to give you some inspiration or at least become more open to the idea of yellow💛
