Yes the rumours are true; I have found a mask that doesn’t break me out! Hooray! Over the years I have had so many mask recommendations, for example, The Origins out of trouble mask. This mask is highly coveted and an essential for a lot of people as I discovered on the Sephora website; it has an average rating of 4.4 stars out of 5 from 845 reviewers! To its credit I have to say it did make my skin silky smooth but it did cause my skin to break out in a fantastically bad way. So from that moment I decided to give clay masks a wide berth! Now, lets get on to talking about the star of the show, a product so good it deserved a blog post all on its own.
Yes, that’s right I’m taking about the Body Shop Tea Tree anti perfection night mask. Lets get into the details:
Price: £12 for 75ml tub.
Vegan: Yes
Alcohol Free: Yes
What it claims to do: “Our Tea Tree Anti-Imperfection Night Mask is specifically formulated to care for blemishes and imperfections while you sleep. Infused with salicylic acid and Community Trade tea tree oil, this leave-on mask helps reduce the size and number of imperfections. Wake up to clearer looking skin that feels refreshed, purified and soothed. Tone, texture and oiliness.”
Yes, yes and yes, I completely agree with everything The Body Shop claims this mask does, so lets delve even deeper! The consistency has a feel of silicone and goes onto the skin with a light and smooth feel, it absorbs into the skin quickly and doesn’t leave any sticky residue behind in the morning. The smell is as you would expect of tea tree but importantly the smell isn’t overpowering and even better the smell doesn’t linger on your skin once applied. For me one of the best elements of this mask is it doesn’t leave a film on your skin in the morning, I absolutely hate any skin care product that doesn’t really absorb properly onto the skin so leaves an oily film on the skin in the morning!
Let’s be real though, it deals with the small average red spots and whiteheads very well , it reduces their size and redness excellently but I do have to say that it doesn’t have such an impact on large painful cystic acne spots. I will say it does reduce size and redness to an extent but lets face it the best thing to do with these is let them run their course and don’t touch them! (I know how annoying) If you do have a product to help with cystic acne spots then please leave it in the comments below!
